My name is Jessica and I am a newlywed with a passion for cooking and trying new things. I am in my early 30s and the majority of my life has been a struggle with my weight, my image, and my self-esteem. After years of mistakes, I’ve finally come to terms with food, fitness, and that life really is what you make of it. You are in control of yourself and even though we can’t control what life throws our way, we CAN control how we respond to it. For me? Food was my worst enemy and best friend. It was a comfort and a solace, but at the same time, I was letting it kill me.

Now, food and I are friends. Real food, that is – not the stuff in a box that tries to pass itself off as food. Yes, I too will fall prey to “fake food” now and again, but the biggest lesson I have learned is that making a mistake is not the end of the world.

Along with (sort-of) recipes, I’ll also share food reviews, food-related health tips and musings, and occasionally some not-so-healthy indulgences. It’s all about balance and living healthily without depriving yourself.

Come with me as I share a little bit of the joy food brings me every day by sharing the creations that come out of my kitchen!
